COVID-19 Information & Updates

Due to the increasingly alarming growth of the COVID-19 global pandemic, the following measures will be observed out of an abundance of caution, effective close of business today, March 16, 2020.

The Kalispel Casino, Wetlands, Camas Center recreation facilities, Camas Center day care, The Camas Deli, all areas of Northern Quest Resort & Casino, Kalispel Casino, Kalispel Golf and Country Club and Fatburger 5-mile will be closed for regular business for two weeks.

Effective close of business on March 17, 2020 the Kalispel Tribe will close the Tribal Government offices until April 1, 2020. The Camas Center Clinic, Kalispel Market, Public Safety, Finance, Communications, Legal, Planning and Public Works along with Kalispel Market will continue providing essential services during the closure.

The Kalispel Tribe of Indians cares deeply about its guests, employees and our community.??As conditions are rapidly changing in these uncertain times, we believe it’s incumbent upon all of us to take responsibility for social distancing to protect the health and safety of our community.

Today we received notification that a guest who visited the casino last week (March 9) has tested positive for COVID-19.??We are working with the CDC and our local health district to investigate this case and take their recommendations for continuing to protect the health of our guests and team members.

We understand the anxiety everyone in our community is facing around the spread of COVID-19.??If you have concerns about exposure or symptoms, regardless of where you believe you might have been exposed, please contact the Northeast Tri County Health District or Spokane Regional Health District.

We also understand the massive impact this closure will have on our employees and their families.??The Kalispel Tribe has generously offered to pay all affected employees for the two weeks that we are closed.??While our hope was to remain open for business to continue serving our guests and allowing our employees to earn a living, our circumstances have now changed.??We believe a temporary closure is the right thing to do.??We all owe it to our community to protect the healthcare system and its resources as we navigate this complex and rapidly changing situation.

In that regard, Kalispel Linen Services (KLS) will remain fully open for business, as will our Kalispel Market fuel and convenience stations, and the Camas Health Clinic on the Reservation in Usk.??KLS, the Tribe’s commercial laundry facility, currently processes all healthcare linens for Providence Health Care in Eastern Washington. Our team’s continued dedication at KLS is critical to ensuring our local healthcare partners can treat our community’s most vulnerable patients.??For Team Members working in those areas, further communication will come from your department directors this afternoon and throughout this evening.

Our Tribal leadership team is meeting around the clock and will continue to communicate additional information to you as soon as it becomes available.??In the meantime, we highly encourage everyone to follow the CDC’s social distancing policies and practice self-isolation as much as possible as we weather this global storm.

We pledge to continue sharing updates as they become available.
