I am the Information and Outreach Coordinator for Kalispel Tribe Natural Resource Department since 2016.? One day is never the same as the next.? I might be working with a group of students at the Indian Creek Community Forest one day and representing the Tribe at a Salmon Recovery Funding Board meeting in Olympia the next.? I attend a lot of community meetings and help out in numerous habitat restoration projects that KNRD has in the works.
Q: Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Newman Lake Washington and attended East Valley High School but spent most of our summers on the Pend Oreille River.? My dad, grandfather and great grandfather all grew up in Pend Oreille County
Q: What do you like most about working for Kalispel Tribe?
I really like the diversity of the projects I am assigned to work on. It is definitely not boring.? I also enjoy the work culture.? The people here are friendly and seem to truly care about each other.
Q: What are your hobbies?
I spend a lot of time in the woods with my wife, our three crazy dogs and our horses scouting, hunting, fishing, and hiking.? We are lucky to live in Pend Oreille County, where access to public lands is plentiful.? I also enjoy playing the upright base in the band Shedroof Divide.
Q: What is your favorite event the Kalispel Tribe puts on?
That is a tough question. I have three: The Pow Wow, Qlispe River Fest and the Kalispel Horn Contest.
